Ingredients:
Marinade:
1 tbsp light soy sauce
½ tbsp Chinese cooking wine
½ tsp sugar
½ tbsp oil
1 tsp baking soda
½ tbsp cornstarch
sprinkle of black pepper
½ tbsp oyster sauce
1/8 tsp white pepper
1 tbsp water
1 egg white
Sauce:
½ tbsp cornstarch
½ tbsp Chinese cooking wine
½ tbsp light soy sauce
½ tbsp dark soy sauce
½ tbsp oyster sauce
1/8 tsp white pepper
½ tsp sugar
sprinkle of black pepper
1 tbsp water
Main Ingredients:
8 oz beef
1 lb broccoli
half a carrot
1 minced garlic clove
1 inch of piece of ginger (minced)
1 stem of spring onion
optional white sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Use water to rinse the beef strips and squeeze the water out.
- Marinate the beef strips with light soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, sugar, oil, baking soda, cornstarch, black pepper, oyster sauce, white pepper, water and egg white, set aside for 30 mins.
- To make the sauce, add cornstarch, Chinese cooking wine, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, sugar, black pepper and water.
- Cut broccoli and carrot in bite-size pieces, minced the garlic and ginger.
- To the wok, add oil and beef, cook for 1 minute, flip and cook another minute, set aside.
- Add minced garlic and minced ginger, cook for ½ minute. Add spring onion and carrot slices cook for 1 minute. Add boiled broccoli, cook for ½ minute.
- Add the beef and sauce, cook for 1 min or until beef turns brown.
- Optional, sprinkle with white sesame seeds
