Fresh strawberries paired with chewy boba makes the perfect combination for a refreshing drink. Not to mention brewed tea with frothed milk also elevate this drink to the next level. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Strawberry sauce:
- 1 lb strawberries
- 1/4 cup of white sugar
- 1 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
Boba Milk Tea:
- 1 cup of dried boba balls
- 3/4 cup of brewed green tea (chilled)
- 3 cups of milk
- 3 tbsp of honey
Instructions:
- Chop ½ of the strawberries to cook down and ½ to set aside. Pro-tip, use chopped strawberry instead of purée, because purée can become too watery and harder to thicken.
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Heat pan on medium high heat. Add chopped strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.
- Bring to a boil. Pro-tip: skim foam off the top. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until thicken for 10-15 min. Stirring occasionally.
- Wait until the strawberry sauce has cooled and store it in a sealed container in the fridge for 30 min.
- Boil boba according to package instructions.
- Froth milk with a milk frother for 20 to 45 seconds, or until you’ve reached your desired consistency. This way, the chopped fresh strawberry can stay on top.
- In each cup and in this order, add 1/3 strawberry sauce and 1/3 of the rest of the ingredients: cooked boba balls, honey, ice, chilled brewed green tea, frothed milk and chopped fresh strawberry.
